LSW at the Eisteddfod 2026

We are going to have a strong presence at this year’s Eisteddfod in y Garreg Las. Here are the events we are running as well as the events that some of our Fellows are involved in.


Sunday 2nd August

11:30, LSW Annual Eisteddfod lecture: ‘Looking back and forward on the climate crisis’ – Professor Siwan Davies | Science & Technology Village

Drawing on her expertise as a physical geographer who studies rapid climate changes in the history of the Earth, Professor Siwan Davies FLSW will show how evidence of climate changes in the past helps us understand the extent and speed of change that is happening today.

15:30, Three Minute Thesis Competition | Societies Tent 2

The competition challenges researchers to explain their research to the public in Welsh in under three minutes, using only one slide. A great opportunity to learn more about the exiting research being led by Wales’s up-and-coming talent.
