Election Timetable

Election to the Fellowship is a rigorous process, with existing Fellows involved at all stages of nomination and assessment. We welcome nominations of people from all backgrounds, experiences, views, beliefs and cultures.

The timetable for this year’s process is as follows:

1 June to 31 October 2023 – Nomination Window
Nominations submitted. A nomination is made by a Proposer, supported by a Seconder. They must both be Fellows of the Society.

November – December 2023 – Nominations Processed
The Scrutiny Committee will seek at least two independent assessment reports on each Nominee.

January – February 2024 – Scrutiny Committees meet
Each Scrutiny Committee will meet to assess all the nominations it has received. The Scrutiny Committees will make recommendations to our Vice-Presidents.

March 2024 – Council finalises the 2024 list of proposed Fellows
The Vice-Presidents propose the shortlist of recommendations to the Society’s Council. Council finalises the list of Nominees to be listed in the Fellowship ballot.

April 2024 – The Fellowship Vote and Public Announcement
Fellowship votes on the Nominees. All Nominees, whether successful or not will be notified in advance of the public announcement. The announcement normally takes place in the last week of April.
