Sponsored by the Learned Society of Wales, WISERD’s Student Poster Competition sees PhD students create an informative poster explaining their research. The posters are then displayed at the annual WISERD conference.

Sophie Baker, a first-year PhD student from Bangor University’s School of Psychology, was awarded the prize at the 2019 WISERD Conference held in Aberystwyth in July, where the panel agreed that Sophie’s poster was the most informative, clear and engaging.

Sophie researches language belonging and psychosis and her poster explained her research into perceptions of belonging in service users with psychosis living in linguistically mismatched communities in North Wales.
