It is with much regret that we report the death of Sir John Houghton, one of the founding Fellows of the Learned Society of Wales.

Sir John, from Dyserth, played leading roles in the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) scientific assessment working group, the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research and the Met Office.
