Professor David Wyn Jones Advising British Library on Beethoven Exhibition

Professor David Wyn Jones (Cardiff University) is acting as advisor to the British Library for its Beethoven Exhibition in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

The exhibition will run from December 2020 to April 2021.

Professor Jones will also give a public lecture at the British Library on 21st January 2021: ‘Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony. What’s it got do with Napoleon and why has history marginalised a rival composer, Anton Eberl’.

The exhibition and lecture are part of a series of events in which the British Library will celebrate the composer, recognised as one of the greatest and most influential composers of all time.

The exhibition will feature rare items from the Library’s significant collection of printed and manuscript music.

Further details will be available nearer the time from the British Library website.
