Are you starting a career in research? Join our new national support network

Later this year, the Learned Society of Wales will launch a new national support network for early career researchers. We’re giving you the opportunity to sign up now to receive our emails, so that you will know when we organise our first online meetings.

The network is aimed at anyone who is starting a career in research or starting to work with researchers. Most members will probably be working in higher education, but the network will also be open to those in the public, private and third sectors. There will be no cost to join, and registration will be open to all. In return, we’ll ask members to contribute to the life of the network by participating in activities and being open to collaboration with others across Wales.

Through the network, we will support you to:

  • Engage with creative and inspiring ideas from the cutting-edge of research and practice
  • Gain experiences and skills that support your professional development and profile
  • Develop strong networks and collaborate across academic disciplines and sectors
  • Respond collectively to important challenges and opportunities for Wales

For those in the HE sector, the network will contribute to the commitments of researchers, their managers and institutions under the Researcher Development Concordat.

Due to the situation surrounding Covid-19, we’re currently unable to offer physical network meetings. Instead, our first activity will be to organise a series of Zoom meetings over the coming months.
