2022: Professor Ann John receives the Frances Hoggan Medal 2022 for her work on mental health and the prevention of suicide and self-harm.

2021: Professor Dianne Edwards received our Frances Hoggan Medal 2021, for her research into plant species, including those that existed over 400m years ago.

2020: Professor Haley Gomez MBE FLSW won the Learned Society of Wales’ Frances Hoggan Medal 2020, awarded to celebrate outstanding research by women in STEMM subjects.

2019: Professor Tavi Murray FLSW from Swansea University received the medal in recognition of her work in glaciological research.

2018: The medal was awarded to Professor Lynne Boddy of Cardiff University, one of the foremost fungal ecologists in the world.

2017: The medal was awarded to Professor Anita Thapar CBE, of Cardiff University, for her research in child and adolescent psychiatry.
