Early Career Researchers Network: August Update

It has been a couple of busy weeks for members of our ECR Network and some of the Society’s Fellows.

In June, we hosted a roundtable discussion which explored ‘How to ensure fair access to medicines’. The panel raised important questions, including the development of policies to address private companies’ accountability to follow the UN Guiding Principles on Human Rights, the vulnerability of paediatric populations in the development of drugs, and a call for action to create inclusive research designs. The video recording is now available here in case you missed the session.

In early July, we were invited to exhibit at the WISERD Annual Conference 2022 – we were delighted to meet some of our Fellows and ECRs in person. In collaboration with the ESRC Wales Doctoral Training Partnership, we sponsored the prizes for the PhD Poster Competition at the conference. Congratulations to the three winners! We are pleased that the outstanding work of members of the ECR Network is recognised. Well done to Dr Melda Lois Griffiths (Public Health Wales) for also passing her PhD viva, and to Jami Abramson (Swansea University) for writing a fascinating blog post on the Photo Diary Method.
