Dr Luned Badder wins Three Minute Thesis Competition at the National Eisteddfod

Dr Luned Badder of Cardiff University has won this year’s Three Minute Thesis Competition, held at the National Eisteddfod in partnership with Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. The title of her presentation was ‘Hyfforddi feirysau i gludo cemotherapi i ganser y pancreas’ (‘Training viruses to carry chemotherapy to pancreatic cancer’).

The competition, organised by the Learned Society of Wales’s Early Career Researchers Network and Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, challenged researchers to explain their work to a public audience in Welsh in under three minutes, using only one slide. Six Early Career Researchers took part this year, presenting to a live audience in the Societies Tent on the Eisteddfod field on Thursday, 6 August.

This year’s competitors were Emma Grigorian (Cardiff Metropolitan University), Evan Wall (Aberystwyth University), Hanna Andersen (Cardiff University), Lowri Haf Puw (Swansea University), Luned Badder (Cardiff University), and Maisie Edwards (Swansea University).
