On International Women’s Day, I am pleased to reaffirm the Learned Society of Wales’ commitment to equality and diversity, and especially to the inclusion of women.

During the weeks to come, we will highlight the achievements and expertise of our women Fellows across the sciences, arts, humanities and public services. We are determined to be a welcoming and inclusive Society. We will #ChooseToChallenge gender bias and inequality.

Later this year, we will announce further targets to increase the number of women nominated for Fellowship, and to achieve gender-balanced governance bodies in the Society. We will also hold open information sessions about becoming a Fellow – please do get in touch if you would like to know more.
