Are You a Future Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales?

The window for nominating someone to become a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales in 2024 is now open.

However, we know that how to become a Fellow can be confusing for those new to the process.

Join our information sessions to find out more:

We’re therefore running informal information sessions for anyone interested in being nominated and who wants to understand the election process:

What you will learn in the information sessions

Nominations are made and assessed by our existing Fellows. We will explain what that involves, and you will have the opportunity to ask anything you like about the process. You will also be able to hear from some of our existing Fellows about what Fellowship means to them.

Our Fellows represent excellence in many areas of learning – including the academic disciplines, interdisciplinary activities, the public and private sectors, and wherever people’s work makes a significant impact on Welsh life.

A diverse Fellowship for a diverse society

Everyone is welcome to attend. You may have been nominated previously, or see yourself as a nominee this year or in the future. While the process is rigorous and only those who meet our criteria of excellence are elected, we strive to be welcoming and inclusive. We want to represent the diverse nature of Wales, its universities and civil society.

We remain particularly keen to increase nominations of women, so one of our information sessions is reserved for women participants.

We look forward to seeing you at one of the sessions. If you have any queries, or would like to pose a question to be answered on the day, please contact Fiona Gaskell.
