Responding to the Welsh government’ recent white paper proposing significant changes to Wales’s research and post-compulsory education institutions, Prof  Peter Halligan, LSW  Chief Executive, welcomed the creation of a dedicated arm’s-length body for research and innovation.

However, in the Research Fortnight piece, Prof Halligan noted that the real challenge  if the intention was to  deliver a more prosperous Wales was to secure a significant uplift in overall funding  in the challenging and competitive post-Brexit environment.
