Learned Society of Wales joins CaSE

The Learned Society of Wales (LSW)  is pleased announce that it has joined the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE) as an organisational member.

CaSE delivers independent, authoritative analysis on areas of broad concern across the sector regarding Science education and funding. In addition it  develops recommendations for action, and publishes evidence-based reports and briefings. Their  work is informed by consultation with members & collaborators and through sustained political and media engagement that ensures that the sector’s voice is heard at the highest levels of government.

President of the LSW, Sir Emyr Jones Parry, commented:

The Society’s membership of CaSE reflects our commonality of interest, promotion of science and scholarship, which are so vital to our national interest.

Graeme Reid, Chair of CaSE, welcomed the Society and said

The Learned Society of Wales has a vital role in and beyond Wales.  I am delighted that the LSW has joined the CaSE and I look forward to working with them to promote the interests of the science and engineering community to Governments in both Cardiff and London.

The Learned Society of Wales (LSW) is an all‐Wales, pan‐discipline educational charity, operating on an independent basis and providing public benefit including expert scholarly advice on a variety of public policy issues related to science, engineering, medicine, arts, humanities and social sciences.
