On 5 August 2016, the Learned Society of Wales was formally incorporated as a Royal Charter Charity by the Charity Commission.

The Society’s new Registered Charity number is 1168622.

The Society’s Royal Charter and Bye-laws replace the Memorandum and Articles of Association as the Society’s governing documents.
