Our Early Career Researchers Colloquium is back for 2026

Plans for the fourth LSW Early Career Researchers Colloquium are already underway with a date and venue set.

Two-days of training, flash-talks, networking, social activities and our popular poster competition will take place on 29-30 June 2026 in the beautiful surroundings of Aberystwyth.

We are delighted that we are partnering with Aberystwyth University to host the event. We are also thrilled to be working with our ECR representatives, who will lead the organisation of the ECR Colloquium Committee. This ensures that the colloquium meets their needs and reflects their priorities.

This year’s event, held at Cardiff Metropolitan University, attracted over 120 people, from across all subject disciplines and all of Wales’ universities. It hosted 39 individual presenters and 18 posters that showcased individual research projects.

The call for applications to participate in next year’s colloquium will open in January 2026. This is an interdisciplinary conference and we welcome applications from researchers working within and outside academia.

Bursaries available
We will also, as previously, provide a number of bursaries to cover the costs of travel and accommodation. We offered 18 bursaries for this year’s event and details of how to apply will be made available when bookings for the colloquium open in the new year.
