Leaving a gift in your will
Help to inspire the next generation of Fellows. Leave a legacy to the Learned Society of Wales.
Gifts of all sizes help the Society to celebrate excellence, champion research, promote learning, and contribute to the future of Wales and the world.
Every legacy is precious to us and will make a huge impact on our work.
Different ways to give
There are many different ways to leave a gift in your will. You may to wish to consider the Society, and any amount you might choose to give would be very welcome. You can give:
- A share of your estate (known as a residuary legacy)
- A fixed sum of money (a pecuniary legacy)
- Land, buildings or other possessions
If you have already made a will, it is very easy to make an addition (known as a codicil).
For estates greater than the inheritance tax threshold of £325,000, your estate will have the benefit of not paying 40% tax on your gift to the Society.
