ECR Bursary Fund

Our bursaries will provide vital support for Early Career Researchers (ECR) who would otherwise be unable to attend conferences to present their work, build their academic profiles, and grow their professional networks. In the current financial climate, many ECRs are no longer able to access funds for this. By providing support to ECRs through this fund you will help remove barriers for researchers facing financial constraints, allowing them to gain recognition and progress in their careers.

Your contribution will help to support the next generation of researchers in Wales and strengthen the future of Welsh research.

Read Dr William Perry’s blog to see how our ECR bursary helped him deliver a keynote at the Wales Ecology and Evolution Network’s grassroots conference. This is a powerful example of the difference your support can make.

Click here to make a donation to this fund. We are aiming to raise at least £3,000. Any amount is welcome. Those who donate over £250 will receive a personal update on how their contribution has been used.

The Society’s policy for awarding ECR bursaries will be decided by our Advisory Group for Researcher Development – The Learned Society of Wales, guided by the Society’s current strategic priorities. Further information for ECRs on how to apply for a bursary will be available in the autumn. To keep updated on these bursaries and other opportunities, please register to receive our ECR newsletter.
