This event will be a celebration of the tercentenary of the great Richard Price’s birthday on the 23rd of February.

It will involve a public lecture ‘Revolutionary Friendships: Richard Price, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and the Cause of Independence ‘from the guest of the Learned Society of Wales, Dr Patrick Spero, who will be visiting from Philadelphia, where he is the Librarian and Director of the American Philosophical Society’s Library and Museum.

The lecture will be followed by a roundtable discussion of the enduring legacy and relevance of Richard Price.

This will be the return leg of an exchange which saw Prof Iwan Morus FLSW deliver a lecture on Price on the 12th January at the APS

The event will be recorded, and a video of the event will be available afterwards.
