ECR Webinar: What Makes A Good Mentor?

This one-hour webinar introduces attendees to the role of academic mentorship by exploring the question ‘What makes a good mentor?’. Through engaging discussions and a Q&A session, delivered by experienced mentors, attendees will be introduced to the characteristics of a good mentor and receive guidance on how to build successful and effective relationships with the people they mentor. The webinar will also explore the challenges mentors can encounter and offer practical strategies for overcoming them. By the end of the webinar, attendees will have a better understanding of the importance of good mentorship in academic settings and will have received helpful guidance to support them in becoming confident mentors.

The session is being co-organised by the Learned Society of Wales Early Career Researchers Network and Swansea University’s Early Career Researchers Committee for the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences.
