Professor Edward Witten, Institute of Advanced Studies, Princeton University, and Fields Medal winner delivers the David Olive Distinguished Lecture on May 22nd, 2025.

The lecture celebrates Professor Witten being awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Learned Society of Wales

Edward Witten needs no introduction to the theoretical physics and mathematics community. His numerous breakthroughs and breath-taking insights into physics and mathematics have inspired, and continue to inspire, generations of theorists. He has multiple honours and achievements and the Honorary Fellowship recognizes Witten’s “profound contributions to contemporary physics, including supersymmetric and topological quantum field theory, string theory, M-theory, quantum gravity, and quantum information theory.”
