Dr Wendy Ewart

Independent Consultant in Biomedical Science

Dr Ewart developed and delivered novel and enduring research strategies for key UK research organisations, the Medical Research Council and Imperial College Faculty of Medicine. Working at Board level meant she influenced the direction of growth and leadership of UK Biobank and the Francis Crick Institute in the early days of their development. This work helped build the strength of the UK’s science base. She also delivered the Wellcome Trust’s vision of an Africa-based research institute to tackle the HIV/Aids pandemic and secured over ten years of Wellcome Trust funding for population science.
