Professor Terry Jones
Visiting Professor, University of California, Davis, USA
Professor Jones initiated the UK’s first program in positron emission tomography (PET) in 1979. He developed advanced PET methods including scanner design, and the modes, protocols and analyses of human PET data collection. Professor Jones has fostered clinical research using PET in neurology, psychiatry, oncology, cardiology and pulmonary medicine. This work has produced new information on major human diseases. He collaborated with the University of California Davis, producing the world’s first total body PET scanner, a technology that is now becoming being more widely adopted.
