Dr Azam is a public health professional, having worked in the field for 18 years, 12 of them at Consultant level, and as an Executive National Director since May 2023. She has undertaken research, and has expertise, in areas key to tackling health inequity, including Welsh policy, sustainable development, and the determinants of health, such as poverty and housing.
