Head of Cultural Collections Engagement and Curation, Swansea University

Sian Williams is a senior leader in librarianship and archives, with a career focus on public engagement. She developed the South Wales Miners’ Library at Swansea University as an internationally respected centre for research and learning in labour history; it has significant links with adult education and community-based organisations in south Wales. She now also leads the Richard Burton Archives, the Egypt Centre, the History of Computing Collection, and the university art collection at Swansea. She promotes these as research collections and as teaching and community resources, with a significant focus on previously excluded and hard to reach audiences.
