Professor Clifton has built up an international research profile with a wealth of publications about the foundational and circular economy; creativity and innovation; regional culture and branding; remote working and coworking networks; networks and SMEs; and policy-making for economic development. He has helped shape national policy for bodies such as Welsh Government, Federation of Small Businesses Wales, and Innovate UK.
