Professor Jonathan Timmis

Professor Timmis is an interdisciplinary researcher, applying computer science and mathematical approaches to biology, with a focus on immunology and evolution. He has worked extensively on computational models of immune function (computational immunology) to develop software systems that can help reduce and refine animal experimentation. This work helps with understanding environmental impact, and immune-inspired evolutionary approaches to robotics and swarm robotic systems, a focus being on fault-tolerance and detection of anomalous data.
