Professor Jonathan Gillard

Professor of Statistics and Data Science; Deputy Head of School of Mathematics, Cardiff University

Professor Gillard’s work spans statistics, optimisation, and operational research. He has developed methods that improve real-world decision-making in healthcare, government, and industry. He has led major collaborations with the NHS and the Office for National Statistics. He is Academic Chair of Welsh Crucible and the first Head of the School of Computational and Mathematical Sciences at Cardiff University.
