Professor John Lloyd

Emeritus Professor of Pharmacy, University of Sunderland

Professor Lloyd is a Professor Emeritus of Sunderland University, where he was Head of the Sunderland School of Pharmacy. Previously, he held senior positions at University College Cardiff, Keele University, and Jefferson Medical College Philadelphia (USA). His research on cellular pharmacology shed light on the causes of human congenital malformations and some inherited metabolic diseases. This helped pave the way for the now burgeoning field of targeted drug therapy for cancer and other human diseases.
