Professor Langley is internationally recognised for pioneering hyphenated analytical techniques (GC-MS, HPLC-MS, SFC-MS) and specialises in their application across chemistry, chemical biology, and oilfield chemistry. He led the development of academic open-access mass spectrometry platforms and is a strong advocate for shared access to scientific infrastructure and exceptional facilities. He has mentored and trained the next generation of analysts, as PhD supervisor, tutor and through training courses in the UK, Europe and Asia.
