Professor D. Dafydd Jones

Chair in Biochemistry, Cardiff University

Born, raised and educated in the South Wales Valleys, Professor Jones won a scholarship to study biochemistry at Aberystwyth University. During a placement year in the USA, his passion for protein structure and engineering was confirmed. He went to Cambridge to undertake a PhD with Professor Richard Perham in the Department of Biochemistry. After a spell in the biotech sector, he took up a place at Cardiff University where he continues to develop novel approaches to engineering proteins.
