Owen Milton
Programme Officer, Researcher Development
Owen is the Society’s Programme Officer for Researcher Development. He works with Dr Barbara Ibinarriaga Soltero in developing and supporting the delivery of the LSW’s Early Career Researchers (ECR) Network. He also supports initiatives for Mid-Career Researchers and assists with LSW Grant Schemes review panels.
Owen completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham before achieving an MSc in Psychology from Cardiff University. During his postgraduate studies, he completed a research placement within Cardiff University’s Human Factors Excellence Research Group (HuFex). Before joining the Society, Owen delivered strategic communications and sustainable energy thought leadership at Bryt Energy.
A fluent Welsh speaker from Welsh-medium education, Owen is passionate about the language and its culture. He is committed to continuing to develop his abilities and to using Welsh wherever possible in his work at the Society.
In his free time, Owen is an avid drummer with international festival and touring experience. He is also a keen reader and coffee-drinker, and is a passionate supporter of Cardiff’s live music scene.
