Helen Gummett-Preece

Helen serves as the Governance Officer for LSW, where she plays a vital role in supporting the Clerk and ensuring that all governance, constitutional, and procedural requirements are adhered to. She helps to maintain high standards of governance by ensuring that the governing body operates effectively and is fully equipped to meet its statutory responsibilities.

Helen brings with her over 16 years of experience in the third sector, having worked with a range of environmental and health charities. She originally trained as a primary school teacher at the University of South Wales, and those early teaching skills—especially around organisation and clear communication—have proved invaluable in her governance work.

In her spare time, Helen enjoys baking, needle crafting, exploring Wales, and being a taxi service for her 9-year-old!
