Barbara leads our Researcher Development Programme, a HEFCW-funded initiative seeking to deliver one of the Society’s Strategic Priorities – to create an environment that supports Wales’ current and future experts. Barbara also runs our Research Workshop Grant Scheme.

Over the past two years, Barbara has been responsible for developing the reach of the Society’s Early Career Researchers Network. Besides being the main point of contact for the Network members, Barbara produces the monthly ECR Bulletin and manages the organisation of seminars, workshops and other activities, allowing Network members the opportunity to connect with and learn from our Fellows. 

Barbara joined the Society in June 2021.  

As a social scientist, who graduated from Cardiff University, Barbara continues developing her research profile through consultancy for research projects and supporting non-profit organisations to obtain funding to work within Mexican indigenous communities.   

Barbara is passionate about teaching and loves swimming and cycling.
