Aneurin Bevan was the chief architect of the National Health Service – an organisation lauded for its team working.  He was a Member of Parliament for Ebbw Vale and appointed Minister for Health in 1945.  Born in Tredegar, the son of a miner, he was a trade union activist and later deputy leader of the Labour party.
