Professor John Lloyd
Emeritus Professor of Pharmacy, University of Sunderland
Professor Lloyd is a Professor Emeritus of Sunderland University, where he was Head of the Sunderland School of Pharmacy. Previously, he held senior positions at University College Cardiff, Keele University, and Jefferson Medical College Philadelphia (USA). His research on cellular pharmacology cast light on the causes of human congenital malformations and on the cytopathology of some inherited metabolic diseases. His studies on cellular handling of soluble synthetic polymers paved the way for the now burgeoning field of targeted drug therapy for cancer and other human diseases. In the past two decades he has published studies on aspects of personality psychology and on the science-religion interface.
