Professor Greenwell’s research seeks to understand the interactions between layered minerals, such as clay minerals and related materials, with organic molecules, using a combination of computational and experimental techniques. This work covers a wide range of applications, including the alleviation of pollution, understanding geochemical cycles, new materials and catalysts, and understanding the origin of life on Earth.
