Trained in organic and medicinal chemistry, Dafydd Owen has conducted preclinical research in small molecule drug discovery for over 25 years at Pfizer, in the UK and USA. During the pandemic, he led the discovery of PAXLOVID, the first and only fully FDA approved oral therapy for COVID-19. The entire program was completed in just 21 months. The work was published on the front cover of Science in December 2021.
