Interim Director Institute for Global Food Security and Professor Animal Science and Microbiology, Queen’s University Belfast

Professor Huws is the interim director for the Institute for Global Food Security, Queen’s University Belfast. The Institute spans numerous disciplines that tackle food system challenges for the good of human and planetary health; it was ranked joint-first in research excellence in agriculture, food and veterinary sciences in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework. Her research focuses on enhancing sustainable livestock production within the remit of ensuring planetary and human health.
