Professor Tales brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to the understanding of dementia. She leads several major research initiatives focused on ageing and dementia, and has mentored the next generation of academics and practitioners in this area. Her pioneering work on vascular cognitive impairment, and the functional integrity of attentional and sensory processing in dementia made an original contribution to the field, and her collaborations with clinical and social scientists have helped to improve the lives of people living with dementia.
