Dr Haydeé Martínez-Zavala
Haydeé is the Clerk to the Council. She is responsible for providing advice on governance, constitutional and procedural matters and ensuring that the governing body is operating effectively and able to meet all its statutory duties. As the Governance and Operations manager, Haydeé is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of the organisation. Her role encompasses the development and implementation of effective business processes, primarily through supporting the Council and various Committees. Managing the implementation of governance processes and policies. She drives efficiency and continuous improvement, ensuring that we can operate effectively and thrive as an organisation. Haydeé joined the Society after completing her PhD in Engineering at Cardiff University in 2022. Her background is in Chemical and Environmental Engineering, with international experience in Higher Education, having worked in the UK, Mexico, and Germany.
Haydeé is deeply passionate about the environment, teaching, and music. She enjoys travelling and exploring both natural and historic sites. She is currently learning Welsh as her third language.
