North Wales Clinical Research Symposium

The event is aimed at academics, clinicians and healthcare professionals from across North Wales interested in clinical research, and will highlight opportunities to become involved, as well as showcasing ongoing clinical research excellence in the region. It is generously supported by the Learned Society of Wales.

 Keynote speakers:

  • Mr Jeremy Miles, Cabinet Secretary for Health & Social Care, Welsh Government
  • Professor Lucy Chappell, Chief Scientific Advisor for the Department of Health & Social Care and CEO of NIHR
  • Mr Gareth Cross, Co-Director Health & Care Research Wales and Deputy Director of Science, Research and Evidence, Welsh Government

Keynotes will be followed by a panel discussion with Directors of North Wales clinical research centres, chaired by NWMS Director of Research Dr Emily Holmes.

The Symposium will be held in person. However it will include a 45 minute session with Q&A, starting at 12:45, entitled ‘How can I get involved in clinical research?’, led by Dr Nicola Williams, National Director of Research Support & Delivery, Health & Care Research Wales. This session will be live-streamed for those whose clinical duties on other sites do not permit them to attend the entire event.
