Lowri Cunnington Wynn wins the Gwerddon Prize

Dr Lowri Cunnington Wynn of Aberystwyth University’s Department of Law and Criminology was this year’s recipient of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlathol’s Gwerddon Prize. The prize was awarded during the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol reception at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol on Wednesday 7 August.

The Gwerddon Award is presented every other year to the author of the best article published in Gwerddon (a multidisciplinary journal from the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol) in the last two years. Lowri has received a trophy, and a prize of £100 donated by the Learned Society of Wales.

Lowri’s article ‘“Beth yw’r ots gennyf i am Gymru?”: Astudiaeth o allfudo a dyheadau pobl ifanc o’r bröydd Cymraeg’, which considers the out-migration of young people from the Welsh-speaking heartlands in terms of their aspirations and hopes for the future, is available to read here.
