Supporting Early Career Researchers

To ensure that research and innovation thrive in Wales, it's essential that we support researchers from the very start of their careers. The Society wants to play its part by establishing an Early Careers Academy for Wales.

Earlier this year, we established a national, cross-disciplinary network for Early Career Researchers. More than 400 people have already joined the network, and in November we held our first free Zoom seminar – attended by 80 researchers.

We want to go further, and ultimately to establish an Early Careers Academy for Wales. Your donation will help us to maintain and develop our network, as a stepping-stone to this ambition. Together, we will support researchers to:

  • Provide a platform to share research, develop proposals and collaborate on a key challenge facing Wales and the world
  • Launch a national network of researchers with shared interests across academic institutions, government and the third sector
  • Support the civic mission of the HE sector in Wales
  • Develop evidence and impetus for the development of the Early Careers Academy
