Event support

The Learned Society of Wales provides small grants to support the organisation of a wide range of events across Wales each year. You do not need to be a Fellow to apply for funding.

Proposals will be considered initially by the staff, and if necessary the Executive Group. Please provide a three-month lead time for any event proposal.

Assessment

All applications should  outline how the proposed event will contribute to at least one of the Society’s strategic priorities:

  • Promoting innovative research
  • Reaching beyond academia to policy-makers and influencers
  • Promoting learning and debate to a wider audience
  • Increasing the number of Fellows actively contributing to the Society’s work

Society recognition 

All events directly supported by the Society must make public mention of the Society’s support in all press/ digital notices & public marketing, including the Society’s logo
