Stars and spades: women in the history of science – British Science Festival

Friday 9 September 2016, at 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Taliesin Theatre Swansea University SA2 8PP

Women have made valuable contributions to science throughout the ages, so why do we rarely hear about female astronomers and archaeologists? History seems to have ignored their existence. Amanda Foreman, historian and presenter of BBC’s The Ascent of Woman, is joined by science historian Patricia Fara, archaeologist Becky Wragg Sykes and neuroscientist Daniel Glaser to discuss some of the discoveries made by women and why they have been forgotten.

This event is supported by The Learned Society of Wales.
