Curo’n hyderus ar y drws tri-enw: golwg ar le’r Gymraeg yn adolygiad Donaldson

Wednesday 22 February, at 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Bangor University

Gan feddwl am nod o ‘filiwn o siaradwyr Cymraeg’, mae’r Athro Hopwood yn cynnig dull gweithredu mwy hollgynhwysol at ieithoedd mewn ysgolion yng Nghymru, gan adeiladu ar Adroddiad Donaldson. Mae’n cofleidio dwyieithrwydd fel cyfrwng a all gynorthwyo’n sylweddol wrth gyflawni dibenion craidd y cwricwlwm newydd, ac mae’n gofyn beth a olygir wrth fod ar y ‘Bws Dwyieithog’.

Mae gan Mererid Hopwood FLSW Gadair yn y Gyfadran Addysg a Chymunedau ym Mhrifysgol Cymru y Drindod Dewi Sant. Mae wedi ennill gwobrau niferus am ei barddoniaeth a’i rhyddiaith, ac wedi bod yn Fardd Plant Cymru.
Contemplating the goal of ‘a million Welsh speakers’, Professor Hopwood proposes a more all-encompassing approach to languages in schools in Wales, building on the Donaldson Report. She embraces bilingualism as an agent that can go a significant way towards attaining the core purposes of the new curriculum, and asks what it means to be on the ‘Bilingual Bus’.
Mererid HopwoodFLSW  holds a Chair in the Faculty of Education and Communities at University of Wales, Trinity Saint David. She has won numerous prizes for her poetry and prose, and has been Children’s Poet Laureate of Wales.

Traddodir y ddarlith yn Gymraeg / The lecture will be given in Welsh.
