ECR Event – Access to Medicines: The Impact of Social Inequalities

Tuesday 28 June, at 4:00- 6:00 pm

The roundtable aims to discuss issues about access to medicines under the framework of the international human rights law, addressing the tensions that may arise where public and private interests intersect from an interdisciplinary point of view.

Co-organised with members of the Early Career Research Network and with support from the Society’s Fellows, the online event will be relevant for researchers across academic disciplines such as law, human rights, global health, medicine, and international politics and working at different institutions such as the NHS and the Senedd.

Lecturer in Law, Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law, Swansea University.

Professor Ruth Northway, OBE
Professor of Learning Disability Nursing and Head of Research for the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education, University of South Wales.

Rhian Thomas-Turner
R&D Lead NACHfW (Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales) and Operational Lead at CYARU (NHS Children and Young Adults Research Unit).

The event will be chaired by: 

Professor John Harrington
Director of the ESRC Wales Doctoral Training Partnership and Professor of Global Health Law at Cardiff School of Law and Politics. He co-directs Cardiff Law and Global Justice, a research centre of Cardiff University.
